How do I join the RCPYC?
Ask for an application form at the bar, or contact the Hon Sec
. You will need to be proposed and seconded by existing members, and the application will be posted for 3 weeks before final approval. It is extremely rare to turn away any keen new member!!

Do I need previous experience?
No. All levels of experience are welcomed. There are plenty of members who will welcome you aboard their boats if you are new to sailing, and can advise you how to gain more experience. RYA certified training courses are run regularly at the Club.

Do I need to own my own boat?
Not necessarily. Members are often in search of keen crew, whatever level of experience, and you should not be short of good sailing and good company!

Can I get a meal at the Club?
At lunch time and in the evenings you can order a range of food at the bar, freshly prepared on the premises. Apart from our frequent dining events, most Sundays there is a Carvery at lunch time.

Is membership restricted to owners of sailing boats?
Not at all. We have a substantial fleet of power boats, whose skippers are very active club members and supporters of both social and boating activities, including the popular cross-channel rallies and cruises.
